The Kansas City T-Bones rebranded to the Monarchs ahead of the 2021 season and are a continuation of the franchise that has been located in Kansas City, KS since 2003. The T-Bones originated as the Duluth-Superior Dukes, a Northern League charter member in 1993. The franchise relocated from Duluth, MN after the 2002 season, but the 1993-02 pre-relocation history of the club is not included here, nor is acknowledged by the present franchise.

While a tremendous success at the gate, the T-Bones struggled on the field for most of their first 15 seasons until Joe Calfapietra arrived in 2017 and turned the club into a power that has been an annual title contender for nearly a decade.
