The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks were founded as one of the first two expansion teams in Northern League history in 1996. Successful from day one, They reached the postseason in 14 of their 15 seasons in the NoL and won five league championships. They then became one of four franchises to join the American Association in 2011.

Success was more fleeting in their first decade in the AA, but the club found consistent success in the 2020’s, having reached the postseason in five consecutive seasons and hoisting the Miles Wolff Cup for the first time in 2022.
