Nominally, the Thunderheads and Grand Prairie AirHogs merged for the 2016 season and split home games between Grand Prairie and Amarillo. That franchise (Texas) returned full-time to Grand Prairie after 2016 and is considered to be solely the successor of Grand Prairie, with Amarillo in practicality ending operations after the 2015 season.
